HND in Mechanical Engineering

Head of Programme : Mrs. Sheeba Jenifer Sujit

Mechanical Engineers are required for research, development, designing and manufacturing engines, machines as well as other mechanical devices that people use in their daily lives. Apart from working on power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, Mechanical Engineers' expertise also includes developing power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators and escalators, industrial production equipments and the like.

The HND in Mechanical Engineering by Kolej WIT is a two-and-half-year (2 ½) programme aims to develop students' skills in the above said areas, with specialisation in the areas of computer aided design and manufacturing, energy systems, pressure vessels and piping, heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning systems.

Approved by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) under provisional accreditation, the intensive theoretical and practical training provided in this programme could not only allow graduates a promising career but also the opportunity to progress to graduate and postgraduate studies in other established learning institutions
